So it is the last night in our London house share, last night watching sport from the comfort of a couch, and last night of having boiled water in 2 minutes. Tomorrow morning we load up Dora (our van) and head down to the white cliffs of Dover for a night camping before hopping on the ferry on Friday morning for France.
We are extremely excited for this adventure that we are heading on and still very intent on sticking to our plan of not having a set plan but sort of knowing which direction we are going in. For me this is going to be very challenging as I like to know where I will be sleeping the next night, but challenge accepted… This just frees up time to take advice from locals and take on more spontaneous decisions and adventures on the way.
As it stands, our rough itinerary starts by hugging the west coast of France for a few days while exploring the world war sites. When we get down to Nantes we will head in an easterly direction through the Loire Valley before heading down to Peyragudes in the Pyrenees for a red bull downhill skateboarding event that my cousin Ricky is taking part in. After that we are heading across to north-west Spain and a bit of Portugal. Thereafter we meet our old house mates, Brenno and Caitlin, in Southern France for a few days before heading to the tomato festival in Bunol, near Valencia.
The itinerary is a lot more rough after this, but will be in the order (sort of) of Switzerland, Italy (including Monza Grand Prix), Slovenia (Cow’s ball), Austria (sound of music hills), Germany (Beer fest), Netherlands (coffee shops), Belgium (Chocolate and beer) and then Scotland….
So this is a little farewell to constant internet access, electricity, a bed and so on for the next 3 months. We will try blog our travels and update photos weekly. If you need to get in touch send us an email or a message on Facebook. We will chat to you all soon!!! Keep smiling ;)
